“There’s nothing out there in the world for you...”

how would you guys react if or when you were told this phrase by a jw while having a conversation?

another phrase is “this world...” or “this system, like gum will chew you up and when it’s done with you, spit you right back out.”.

one i’ve been personally told was from a convert that had told me “whenever i speak to young ones that want to know if the grass is greener on the other side, i tell them i was a part of it.

The world can offer a good education, a good income, a good retirement, good friends who won't shun you if you don't agree with their belief system, and the ability to use one's brain to think. Witnesses have undergone a spiritual lobotomy.

I know exactly how you feel. I stopped praying and reading the Bible. I now believe that when one dies that is it. I have several family members who are still in the Borg. Everything is about how bad world conditions are, how we need the kingdom, and how good it will be in paradise. They are not enjoying the only life they have because they live in the future.

I have listened to many church services on my phone just to take a peek at what they have to offer. It is better than the Witchtower Company but it just doesn't ring my bell. I guess this is due to the fact that I once believed that I was apart of the only true religion and everyone and everything else was wrong. The end was coming and I was going to be in paradise. When you realize that what you once believed was just a big pile of steaming horse crap it unhinges your belief system.

It is a shame that when the JW's go to a meeting at the Kingdumb Hell they check their brains in at the door and then they can soak up all of the information from the platform with their heads bobbing up and down. What they hear they have heard a hundred times before. The only thing that is new is "new light."

Just to think that I was a bobblehead at one time. They believe if a householder rejects the magazines from a pimply faced teenager knocking on their door that they have almost signed their death warrant.

Even if JW's were right about the gloom and doom and god was going to destroy the world, I can't even imagine living in a world that is run by elders and elderettes. And what new tests would god give us to prove our loyalty to him during the 1,000 year reign?

The final test after the 1,000 years sounds like a lot of fun. In Revelation chapter 20 we read:

"When the thousand years are complete, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to assemble them for battle. Their number is like the sand of the seashore. And they marched across the broad expanse of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. But fire came down from heaven and consumed them.…"

Maybe then, at last, no more test from god. Sure sounds like hundreds of thousands of people or even millions of people ("their number is like the sand of the seashore") weren't too happy with paradise and having a pet lion and sitting around all day having picnics. Perhaps it all got to be a little boring after several hundreds of years of life.

In the late 1960's I was going to go to school to get involved with the medical field but two elders told me how foolish it would be to go to school for something that would not be needed in a few years because Armageddon was coming. Instead of going to school I became a laborer and lived paycheck to paycheck for over 20 years until I finally started climbing the ladder at work.

Another reason I lost my religion was the look in my mother's eyes as she lay in a nursing home bed dying of old age realizing that she was going to die just like her parents who thought that they wouldn't die either.

The Watchtower Company is a cruel organization that gives false hope to lonely people.

I stopped praying to god and no longer thank god for the food before I eat. He doesn't give a rat's ass about people. How can I say that? In Revelation 12:9 it says: "The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him."

The earth is just a mere speck of dust in the universe and with trillions of other places that God could have thrown Satan to, God chose to confine Satan's activity to where his dear children live, who by the way were created in God's image. I thought that god loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten son as a sacrifice. If you had three children playing in the backyard of your house, would you let a wild lion lose to see what happens? Perhaps you are testing your children as you tell them to run and hide and be obedient to your instructions to avoid being destroyed by the lion. If they didn't listen to you, oh well, maybe they will be resurrected.

For 6,000 years people have been dying, How much time does God need to prove a point about universal sovereignty? Every year 75,000,000 babies are born but thank god 56,000,000 people die each year for a net gain of only 19,000,000 additional people that will need to be murdered at Armageddon by God as his faithful JW's stand in the giggle weeds, or maybe in the bunkers, and rejoice that at last God is destroying 99.9% of the worlds population and in unison they all scream out with smiles on their faces, "See, we told you so!".

Every year that god delays in bringing the end, 19,000,0000 men, women and children must die. If he would have brought the end in 1975, close to 800,000 million people would not have been born who now have to die. That sounds like a lot more people than the "Cart People" have saved.

The reason I stopped thanking god for my food is every year 9,000,000 die of starvation. By thanking god for my food I am saying that he provided the food for me. Why am I so special? If you had three children and had the ability to give them food, would you let your dear children suffer the terrible death of starvation? I have food because I worked my ass off and have a retirement. The money that I earned buys the food that I eat. God did not give me food, Hard working farmers provide the food.

I could go on but I think you see where I a coming from.

I don't see the Watchtower Company going down the drain anytime soon. I would guess that what they have done to lower costs far exceeds the costs of losing thousands of Witnesses every year. In fact, the lost of Witnesses has lowered their costs more enabling the sale of kingdom halls. Just think, after two years they are just going to reprint the same public Watchtower and Awake rags with no new information.

If the scandal for child molesters gets worse and more well known, that will cause an increase in the people leaving, but they will survive. Look at the Catholic Church to prove the point.

The Witnesses are so gullible...anything the Gibbering Body tells them is like from God's mouth. The majority of them will not believe any negative news reports. The witnesses that I know are very upbeat about the latest information.

I think that the new instructions to not waste the rags on people who aren't coming to any meetings will be a big problem because most Witlesses can't defend what they believe, many don't even know what they believe. There will be a dampening on the preaching work.

I would like to thank the Lord I am OK

i saw this on facebook: "i would like to thank the lord i am ok. had a serious fall yesterday from my garage landing to the cement floor and landed on my back.

i suffered a closed head wound, severe cervical sprain, 2 broken ribs and multiple contusions on hand and arm and shoulder.

could have been a lot worse.".

It just gets me when people who have accidents and are injured are thankful to God that it wasn't worse. If they thank the Lord then they imply that he was overlooking the situation and prevented the situation from being worse. A loving God would have prevented the whole thing.

It is like a parent is watching his young child playing at the top of a steep stairway. Rather than removing the child from the danger of falling down the steps, he goes to the bottom of the steps to catch the child as he falls to soften the fall.

I don't think that god gives a rats ass about individual people.

Don't share the program with the ministerial servants is just to make the elders feel smug and important. Now hundreds of apostates will see the program before some elders do, I feel like making a copy of the elder's program and putting a copy under the windshield wipers of all of the cars at the next meeting.

Wt's long term time speculations.

last week's wt study, sept. 25 - oct, 1 , contains a wording often repeated in old publications, that is at variance with the bible's reading , (no surprise here), wherein wt writers have consistently insisted that the universal sovereignty issue will be settled by,- or at the end of the 1000 year reign.

this erroneous rendering of the events following satan's release after the millennium is again used in par.

"--it will not be until the end of his thousand year reign that all his enemies will be completely destroyed.." .

At the end of the 1,000-year reign of Jesus then will be the final destruction of the evil ones. My God, how many armageddons do we need? The first one was the Flood when all of the wicked people on the earth and not so wicked animals were destroyed by the hand of God. Then we have the fast approaching destruction by God that has been heading our direction for the past 103 years and finally the third Armeggedon at the end of the 1,000 years.
